2018 MSCA Legislative Agenda for Business Day at the Capitol
• Thank Legislators for passing the 2017 legislation to end the automatic property tax inflator and exempt the first $100,000 in value from property taxes.
• Sewer Avaliablilty Charges (SAC) – SAC charges are often a “surprise” and we are making it a priority to educate ourselves, legislators and municipalities on their complexities, costs, etc.
• ADA Lawsuits – while legislation was passed in 2017 that should minimize frivolous lawsuits, there is still susceptibility on a federal level.
• Minnesota Legislature CRE Caucus – Encouraging Legislators to join Representative Roz Peterson (R) and Senator Anne Rest (D) in building a bipartisan, bicameral coalition of legislators who support and advocate for the commercial real estate industry.
